Happy, Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TITA MALU!

MISSION: 70th Birthday cake for Tita Malu.

It's Tita Malu's 70th birthday and it had to be really special. This white chocolate mud cake was especially baked for Tita Malu by Nina. Cheryl made the "little Tita Malu".  Chloe made the bracelet and I decorated the cake.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARNOLD!

MISSION: Golf Ball birthday cake for Arnold.

Making a personalized cake is the best. I had a great time making this with Chloe and Cheryl. I baked the chocolate cake and covered it with fondant. Chloe iced the cake with green buttercream and made the golf ball indentations. She also made the "little chloe". Cheryl made the "little Arnold" to perfection. Awesome job ladies!

Baby Face and Teapot Cake

MISSION : teapot cake and cupcakes for a tea party themed baby shower.

I love making my cakes fun and whimsical, and I thought the baby face cupcake was perfect for this special occasion. And I love the different types of flowers around the teapot with the baby bottles. Can you see the tiny baby bottles around the flowers of the teapot? It's a lot of work and a bit challenging but I really had a great time making this. The baby face cupcakes were chocolate with chocolate ganache and filling covered with buttercream fondant. The teapot cake was white cake with lemon mousse and buttercream covered with buttercream fondant.

Peony Birthday Cake

I have been browsing at cake websites and I came across Sweet and Saucy Shop's cake gallery . They made these gorgeous simple cakes with just a single flower as the focal point. And the peonies caught my eye. I've been obsessed with peonies ever since. I bought my peony cutters and I cut and ruffled away. I made this birthday cake for my co-worker, Marla. It's a white chocolate mud cake with white chocolate ganache covered with buttercream fondant.

Fun with Fondant

I've been having a great time with fondant. I was inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Planet Cake. Their cakes are very impressive and adorable. I still have a lot to learn but here are a few cake toppers that I made.

This is the first cake I made with fondant. A little frustrating at first covering the cake, but I think it turned out pretty well.

I made this cake for the 70th birthday of Carrie's mom. This is a white cake with lemon mousse filling and white chocolate shavings on top. I'm really glad they loved it.

Cupcakes for Mother's Day!

This cake is dedicated to all the SINGLE LADIES. I hope you find your prince someday (ahem, I meant soon!).

This is the OWL cake made by my sister Nina.
